Meet Mike Hensgen, Director of Sales

Mike Hensgen joined the S-NET team to work for an organization more closely aligned with his values. He deeply enjoys learning about his clients’ unique business challenges and proposes simple, creative technical solutions to help companies grow and thrive. Can you guess which Chicago-based baseball team he cheers for in his free time? Read on to find out.

When did you join S-NET Communications and what’s your role?

After working for years in large, multi-billion dollar, publicly traded communications companies, I was looking for an organization more closely tied to my values and where my input and effort would have a significant impact. So I left my most recent position with Comcast as a Senior Account Executive after nearly six years to join S-NET in June 2017. Working for a company where client satisfaction takes precedence over everything else is refreshing.

My primary task at S-NET is revenue generation through our direct Sales Team, our Partner channels and the cultivation of strategic relationships.

What is your educational background?

I have a bachelor’s degree in Management with minors in Psychology and Spanish from Southern Illinois University.

How often do you interact with clients?

I work with prospects and clients on a daily basis. I love going into an appointment, learning about the business and their challenges and then presenting technology options that they can use to address those challenges, often with immediate results.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

Sometimes the sheer volume of activity can be challenging. Maintaining a high level of sales performance for myself and my team, managing the ever growing list of Partners and keeping up with extra projects all require significant resources.

But every day I see that my S-NET colleagues, from Accounting to Project Management to Engineering, are all as focused on our clients’ success as I am.  This is truly refreshing and very motivational. I love to jump in and help where I can.  We are a tight knit group and all willing to do what it takes to get the job done and be successful.

How has S-NET helped you grow as a professional?

S-NET has allowed me to use my management skills to improve the Sales Team’s performance, their accuracy and their job satisfaction.

What exciting projects are you most looking forward to at S-NET?

There are a few significant strategic relationships that I am cultivating that are promising and could result in a significant uptick in business for S-NET. I am very excited about those. The more businesses we can transform with cloud -based technologies, the better.

How do you like to spend your free time?

I am a die-hard Cubs fan, so I try to go to games when possible. After a long day at the office, I like to take my dog to the dog park or play golf, and I enjoy watching movies of all types.

What exciting plans are you looking forward to?

I am planning to take my daughter to Disney World later this year and am really looking forward to it!
