Calling Internal Numbers from S-NET Connect

The S-NET Connect desktop application enables you to make business calls from your computer when working remotely and boosts your productivity at the office. With a wide range of features and an intuitive graphic interface, S-NET Connect makes keeping in touch with colleagues, clients and partners easy. Here are the most efficient ways to make calls from S-NET Connect.

Calling a Colleague

S-NET Connect stores a directory of your entire company and allows you to see if your colleagues are available. Right click on their name and select their extension to initiate the call. Whether you are working remotely or sitting at your desk, the call will display your company caller ID.

S-NET connect allows users to make additional contact numbers available to their colleagues, such as cell phone or home office numbers. To initiate a call to an alternate number, simply right click on their name and select the number of your choice.

Using Your Desk Phone or Desktop Application to Make a Call

In S-NET Connect, initiated calls simultaneously go out from your desk phone and your desktop application, which is also known as a softphone. However, you can choose one or the other by right clicking a contact’s name, selecting ‘Call with’ and using the menu to choose your preferred device. If your contact has alternate numbers configured, you will also be prompted to select one of them.

Viewing the Status of Your Conversation

When you make a call, a window will open showing you the status of the conversation and your time on call. Your colleague’s status will change to ‘Ringing’ and – once they respond- to ‘On Call’. Simply click the ‘Hangup’ button in the center of your call screen to end the conversation.

Automate Your Follow-Up Call

When your colleague is unavailable, you don’t have to play telephone tag to catch them in between conversations. S-NET Connect allows you to place a call automatically to a user’s extension once they become available. To set up an automatic follow-up call, simply right click on their name, select ‘Call On Available’ and confirm your selection by clicking ‘Yes’.Automatically call when your colleagues become available.

Once the automatic call is set up, your contact’s status will be updated with ‘(Call on Available)’, but they will not be notified of your upcoming call. S-NET Connect will initiate the call seconds after they finish their current conversation or return to their computer. Cancel your scheduled conversation at any time by right clicking your colleague’s name and selecting ‘Cancel Call On Available’.
