SharePoint wizard Dmitri Plotnikov completely transformed S-NET’s operations with his customized workflow management automations. Compelled by his impressive work, we are now rolling out an Office 365 SharePoint Migration and Development offering to our clients. When Dmitri is not revolutionizing businesses with SharePoint, he likes reading, running and spending time with his family. Read on to get to know Dmitri better.
I started working with S-NET in late 2014. I was brought onboard specifically to help S-NET structure its operations using SharePoint. Now we are extending the same service to S-NET clients as well.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and I have been a Microsoft MVP since 2011.
I have been interested in technology since I was a schoolkid. By the time I finished high school, I was convinced that I would one day work in IT. My mom would have really liked to see me working in the banking industry, but she respected my decision to pursue a degree in Computer Science and I am very thankful for her support. To this day I love to test all sort of gadgets and new technologies, so I think I landed in the right place. I love working with a team of people who have a strong vision for how technology can help streamline and automate processes.
Throughout my career I have worked on many exciting cloud-based projects in Azure, Amazon Cloud and Office 365 SharePoint. I delivered numerous solutions from public internet-based sites to complex automations including 3rd party service integrations. . Nowadays ‘Cloud is King’, most forward-looking companies are moving their data and apps to the cloud to reap the benefits of a more agile and scalable system, so I am here to help them set up an environment that can keep up with this growth.
In the future, I would like to have the opportunity to delve deeper into machine learning, which is another technology I am very interested in. I find it fascinating how routine operations originally considered specific to humans can now be automated and executed by a computer.
I was brought in to help develop, integrate and launch the systems that streamline all of S-NET’s workflows, from sales and client onboarding to billing and customer support.
For example, my team and I developed a Sales Portal using Microsoft 365 SharePoint to help generate proposals and keep track of customers. With the wide range of complex customizations available for S-NET services, the system helps the team of Technology Consultants determine the right pricing and send customized quotes to prospective customers with just a few clicks.
We also needed an internal project management system that could help organize and automate the different steps of the installation process. With the wide variety of products and services offered and the high level of customization S-NET provides to its clients, the installation process can vary greatly among customers. We needed a new portal that allows for an equally high level of flexibility while still keeping things systemized. The Customer Onboarding Portal we created in SharePoint integrates with the Sales Portal to automatically populate fields with relevant information and serve as a starting point to onboarding. Its interface allows Project Managers to keep complex installation processes coordinated, gives them a clear overview of all steps ahead and provides all teams involved in an installation with one central reference point. The portal also helps new S-NET customers better understand and track the installation process. It lets clients track the state of the project in real time, uload and review relevant information, and holds all documentation needed for a successful transition in one convenient place.
These portals are fully integrated into S-NET’s systems, including the Billing and Ticketing Systems, and help streamline processes from end-to-end. Now that we are extending the same services to S-NET clients as well, I couldn’t be more excited to help more companies transform their operations.
I have a great team of developers working on a wide range of exciting cloud-based projects. I always look for high-performers to join my team, and I like to surround myself with people who are striving to become better versions of themselves every day.
I really like that our leadership has a strong vision for the future, both for products and the business in general. It is inspiring to work in this type of environment.
I would say ensuring that everyone is on the same page regarding what we are trying to accomplish and ensuring that in the end the system that I develop works for each user’s individual needs.
I love a challenge, and the Onboarding and Sales portals were the most complicated I delivered at S-NET, so I would have to say that those two were my favorites.
I’m most proud of integrating the S-NET Sales Portal into the Billing System. With this integration, all information entered into the Sales Portal – from contact information to pricing – automatically populates the appropriate fields in the Billing System, saving the S-NET team a tremendous amount of time and reducing the chances of human error as well.
Working with S-NET gave me a much better understanding of the project management aspect of technology and I got a more in-depth insight into client collaborations.
I am very excited about offering our SharePoint Migration and Customization services to S-NET’s clients. I think we can do a lot of good work for them.
People here are very friendly, I really like the work culture.
Being responsible for the solutions we deliver, I always have to be available for unexpected issues. But most evenings I am working on developing a strong habit of reading books. And I strive to spend as much time as I can with my family, maintaining a good work-life balance is very important to me.
I spend most of my free time running, reading or having fun with my kids.
I’m a Martian ☺
