S-NET’s very own VoIP Engineer, Greg Winiarski received his bachelor’s degree in Network Technology from DePaul University, and served as a Manager and Lead Technician at a start-up computer and mobile device repair store before joining S-NET’s team in May of 2014.
I am managing S-NET’s voice and integrated communications solutions, focusing mostly on SIP/VoIP technologies. My responsibilities include everything from building PBX phone systems and maintaining virtual servers to setting up call centers based on customer needs, providing support for our clients, or testing new products and their compatibility with our other services.
I enjoy interacting with clients on a daily basis. My work is very rewarding, especially when I can empower them to do something they weren’t able to do before with the help of a new feature or a technology. It’s very satisfying to help them achieve their goals by fine-tuning their phone systems and call centers to their specific needs. Client feedback is also very important to our work and helps us get better at what we do, whether it’s a positive response or improvements need to be made.
I would have to say that meeting new people every day and gaining more experience in the process is my favorite part. I am also very passionate about my field, so having a chance to work with fascinating, cutting-edge technology is also very exciting.
My favorite S-Net project would have to be the voice solution we deployed for a national dental practice this year. They needed a cloud phone system to connect their 42+ locations and a massive call center that could support over 80 agents and up to 30,000 calls a day during peak times. It was the most challenging project I have ever worked on, and I am very proud of the accomplishment. With all hands on deck we were able to overcome any bumps in the road, deploy all 42 locations in around 30 days, and provide the client with the solutions they were looking for.
I am really looking forward to the expansion of another one of our clients. They are looking to onboard an additional 30 locations with each one having their own call center implementation.
S-NET was the best place I could have ended up after college. As inexperienced as I was, S-NET saw potential in me, and provided me with the perfect learning environment and projects to develop my skills. At least in this field there is no replacement for on-the-job and real-life experience. I am definitely not the engineer I was when I started 3 years ago.
I enjoy the laid-back team atmosphere here, that I can walk up to anyone to ask for help and they will do all they can to help me get the right answer.
I like to go home, eat a nice meal with my wife and watch a funny movie from the comfort of our couch.
I like to watch Hockey if a game is on. (Go Hawks!) Or I catch up on some of my favorite shows on Netflix like House of Cards, The Office, and Top Gear. I also like to work on my own car. I do all the maintenance myself and customize the look to make it stand out from all others on the road.
But some of these activities have been banished to the backburner lately. As some might already know, I got married quite recently to my girlfriend of 5 years. We just closed on our first home last week, and we are starting to remodel. We are very excited and can’t wait for the next chapter in our lives to begin.
