S-NET’s Technology Consultant, Jeremy Farmby comes alive when he can talk to business leaders about their challenges, goals and aspirations. He takes the time to get to know their organizations and offers technology solutions that allow them to operate optimally. Jeremy loves the close-knit team he is a part of, and is excited about team building events where he gets to know his peers better. After work, he spends time with his 9 month old son and tries to hit the gym often. Can you guess which musical is his favorite movie and why?
I have a BS in Communications and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), so this career path came as a natural fit. I held various account management, business consulting and sales roles throughout my career and in my last position, I was selling logistic services to E-commerce companies.
When I joined S-NET in February of 2019, I really wanted to explore a new direction that focused not only on helping businesses solve challenges, but providing them with a technology solution that helps streamline their internal processes and operate optimally.
I’m responsible for finding businesses that would benefit from one or more of our many technological solutions and work with them to find the one that fits their needs best. Being a Technology Consultant for S-NET allows me to be the first face that a potential customer sees. It’s an absolute pleasure to talk to a C-level decision maker for any organization and learn not only about their business challenges, but their immediate and future organizational goals as well. Having these high-level conversations enables me to create a customized solution to solve their internal business challenges and help streamline business processes.
Knowing that we were able to help organizations solve their unique business challenges. I get the most gratification when a customer refers S-NET to other companies. It’s a sign that we have done our work well and we have earned our position as experts in our industry.
I really enjoy working for a company that offers best-in-class technology. When my toolbox is filled with cutting-edge features and functionalities, it makes it much easier for me to find the solutions that help businesses grow and thrive in their respective industries.
I also love interacting with my colleagues – I often collaborate with my peers, as well as our Engineering and Marketing Teams. I believe it’s the people in an organization that makes any company great, and that is definitely the case at S-NET. We all work as a team to ensure that our customers are given a high level of availability from our staff. We’re a family here and we always put our clients’ needs before our own.
I really enjoy all our cool and exciting team building events where we get to learn more about each other. Our most recent team outing to the Brookfield Zoo was a great example and highlighted how every individual within the S-NET organization is different, but we all are striving for the same common goals.
Becoming a parent to my son, Jace, is definitely on the top of the list!
Professionally, I’m proud of the fact that I was selected to join the S-NET Team. This is a very competitive market, but S-NET has entrusted me with helping to grow this organization by advising prospective clients and driving sales.
Working at S-NET has not only sharpened my presentation and delivery skills, but it has provided me with the support and the confidence to grow and excel in my career. It also taught me how to be a better listener and better understand what prospects and clients are trying to convey to me – which is a skill that I increasingly translate into my personal life as well.
Throughout these months at S-NET, I have also learned how to manage my time more effectively. I’m a huge advocate of the work life balance model, but at a small business like this, things can get very busy. So I learned how to make the most of the hours I have so that I also get to spend time with my family in the evenings.
I’m the proud parent of a 9-month-old boy, so in the evenings I always prioritize spending time with him. I also like to hit the gym.
During weekends, I like watching movies or Netflix. I try to make time for traveling to new and exotic places once in a while.
That one my favorite movie is a musical – Grease! In my short lived acting career, I was actually cast to play the leading role of Danny Zuko in my 6th grade play! I believe the only reason I got the part is because I was the only one that tried out for the star role. (Laughs.)
This year, I was also selected to give the commencement speech for the class of 2020 at my high school, which is an absolute honor!
