Meet Michael Koselinski, Network Engineer

Where did you work before, and when did you start at S-NET Communications?

I joined S-NET in May of 2021 after working as an IT technician.

What is your educational background? Are you currently pursuing any education?

I have an associate degree in Computer Network and Business Administration, and I’m currently studying for my CCNA (Cisco Networking Certification).

What made you choose this career path?

Early on I understood that computers are the future, so learning how they work and how to work with them was very important to me.

What is the most rewarding aspect of working with clients?

As a Networking Engineer, I spend about 90% of my time interacting with clients. It is very rewarding to install a system at a client site and see how happy they are with it when we’re done.

What have been your favorite S-NET projects/tasks so far?

My favorite part of the job is going on site, overcoming any challenges and issues, and getting everything up and running smoothly for our clients. I also enjoy configuring the equipment and seeing how the network flow works.

How has S-NET helped you grow as a professional engineer?

Because of the complexity of each project, I feel like every project pushes me to my limit. This has led me to realize my potential. I have learned more from working hands-on at S-NET Communications than what I learned in school.

What do you enjoy the most about working here, with this team?

I like that I can go to anyone on our team with questions, and I’m not afraid that I might be asking the wrong question. Everyone makes me feel like any question is an important one and we all want to succeed.

How do you like to spend your free time?

After a long day at the office, I go home and spend time with my daughter. She helps me forget about the long day and helps me get mentally ready for the next one. I also like to be outdoors if the weather is nice—hiking, camping, or just walking around. I also enjoy sports if it’s a group thing and we all do something together. If the weather isn’t nice, I like to watch movies and read.

What exciting things have happened in your life recently?

All in one year, I bought a condo, got the job at S-NET, and had my daughter.  It was a busy year with a lot of excitement!

What exciting plans are you looking forward to?

I’m excited to grow and move up at S-NET. I’m also excited to be able to take some time off and spend some quality family time with my daughter.

What is one thing most of your coworkers don’t know about you?

I’m a guy who puts everyone first, and no matter what position I’m in, I try to turn everyone’s frown upside down. 😊
