In the years since the S-NET Connect softphone desktop app became an indispensable addition to our VoIP Cloud Phone System offering, we have seen numerous versions emerge, each offering significant improvements over the last. A modernized version of its predecessors, S-NET Connect 5.1 offers the same reliable softphone capabilities and intuitive business communications tools, but now with a brand new interface designed to maximize efficiency and user experience.
The graphic user interface (GUI) of the application has been dramatically simplified to eliminate visual clutter and help users find contacts and functions more easily. With a cleaner design, accent colors and icons associated with specific functions in the software have become significantly more noticeable. This includes the red icons that signal if contacts are busy or on a call, the icons in the blue header bar that initiate basic communications functions, as well as the small grey Settings and Help icons in the upper right corner.
In S-NET Connect v5.1, both the header and the footer have been simplified for user convenience. While the footer merely got a design upgrade, the functionalities of the header have been rethought and it now features only half of its original icons. With only the basic communications functions on display, this new version of the softphone desktop app makes daily use dramatically faster and easier. All other functionalities that used to be a part of the header can now be found in other parts of the application, where they represent a more logical fit.
With a more airy design, larger contact avatars and less visual clutter, both the grid and list view in S-NET Connect v5.1 enable users to locate the contacts they are looking for faster and easier than ever before. With more noticeable round icons in the corner of each avatar, users can now easily see who is available, busy, on a call or away.
The newest rendition of the softphone desktop app also makes searching for contacts much more accessible by replacing the old search functionality that had to be enabled from the menu with a static search bar displayed at the top of the application. This functionality allows users to search within the entire organization or within specific departments, as well as view full departmental contact lists when needed.
S-NET Connect v5.1 now has an enriched instant messaging module with advanced search functionality. Previous versions of the software displayed a user’s chat history and required them to skim through messages to find specific information. In contract, V5.1 now has an easy-to-use search function, allowing users to look for information based on keywords, date and contacts involved.
S-NET Connect has evolved from a basic softphone desktop application into one-stop-shop for business communications. It’s newly redesigned interface maximizes users’ efficiency and experience, ensuring they can stay productive no matter where they are calling from.
