Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for onboarding new clients with the installation of S-NET’s hosted VoIP solutions. This position is responsible for customer relationship management including oversight of work schedules, allocation of resources, and management of budgets. Project Managers work closely with other project team members to successfully complete installations, which are multi-step processes that rely heavily on details and timing. Project Managers are expected to work on multiple installation schedules at the same time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing VoIP installation projects from contract to customer acceptance.
  • Ensuring quality and timely delivery of all projects.
  • Interacting with project team members and acts as a problem-solver by offering workable solutions to keep projects on time and within budget.
  • Overseeing completion of work by provisioning and engineering partners.
  • Managing the project schedule to keep critical activities on track and develop recovery plans to offset delays.
  • Acting as a liaison between client and internal team members for the duration of the project, providing consistent updates to all.
  • Ensuring all aspects of the build conform to quality control guidelines and compliance requirements.
  • Communicating with carriers (AT&T, Comcast, Windstream, XO, Cogent, etc.) as needed.
  • Owning the project closeout, including coordinating with billing and account management to ensure a successful hand-off.

Qualifications

  • Must live in the Chicagoland area
  • Associate’s degree and/or Project Management Certification
  • 2+ years of related telecom project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of basic concepts and terms of inside wiring
  • Proficient with CAT5 wiring, terminating devices (RJ45, RJ11, patch panel), fiber, riser cable, and T1PC.
  • Basic IT experience (routers, switches, VLAN)
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Good written and verbal communication abilities, including preparing and giving presentations.
  • Ability to learn and quickly navigate technology platforms (Installation Portal, Rev.IO billing software, PBX provisioning portal, Solar Winds monitoring dashboard, ZOHO CRM Software.).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Adaptable, flexible, and capable of learning new technology
